Delete your Palbox account
This page explains how to delete your Palbox account and which data the deletion removes. The developer of Palbox is İsmail Yankayış.
Delete in the app
Path: Profile › Settings › Delete account.
- In the app, open the Profile tab.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Delete account. The screen shows the data that is deleted and kept, and your open balances.
- Tap Continue and type your username to confirm.
- Tap Delete my account for good.
Deleting needs an internet connection and cannot be undone. The account is deleted also when you have open balances; the balances do not close.
Data that is deleted
- Your display name, your username, your language and your choice to be found by username.
- Your Apple, Google and e-mail sign-in records. For e-mail sign-in, this record holds your e-mail address and the password hash. With it go the pending codes of your address and the counts of failed sign-ins, e-mails and code attempts for it. If the server holds a refresh token of your Apple sign-in, the server revokes it at Apple, and the app leaves the "Sign in with Apple" list in your Apple Account settings. If the app stays in the list, you can remove it yourself in Apple Account › Sign in with Apple.
- Your device records for notifications (push tokens), your notification settings and pending notifications.
- Your people list.
- The reminders that you created, with their completion records and marks. Reminders that target you and are not over are canceled.
- The marks with which you took game sessions off your list.
- The record of your receipt scan attempts (account ID, time, result).
- The Activity events addressed to you. In the Activity events of other users, the copy of your name is deleted.
Your open sessions end.
Data that is kept
- The expenses and payments in the ledgers. They stay so that the balances of the other members do not change. An anonymous "Deleted user" takes the place of your name.
- Game sessions and scores. Your player name in the sessions is deleted. Open sessions that you lead end.
- Gold days, with their turns and dates. Your member row and your turn stay as an anonymous "Deleted user". The copy of your name in the member list and in the gold day history is deleted. If you were the only admin, the user member who joined first becomes admin; a gold day without another user ends.
- Expense descriptions, ledger names and group names.
- The person records that you created, with the names in them. A person record belongs to nobody, so it is not deleted.
- Your user record keeps only your internal ID and the dates of creation and deletion.
- The completion records and the list marks that you made on reminders that others set.
- Short-lived records. The hashes of closed sessions stay until they expire, and regular cleanup then deletes them.
- Backups. The encrypted nightly backup of the database is kept for at most 90 days, the disk image of the server for seven days. Deleted data can stay in backups until this period ends.
The Privacy Policy and Privacy Notice has the details.
Delete without the app
If the app is not on your phone, the easiest way is to install it again. Sign in the same way as before: with the same Apple or Google account, or with the same e-mail address and password. Then delete the account at Profile › Settings › Delete account. If you forgot your password, tap Forgot password on the sign-in screen and set a new password with the code that comes to your e-mail address.
If you cannot do this (for example, you cannot reach the account or the e-mail address you signed in with), send the deletion request by e-mail: privacy@palboxapp.com
- Write "Account deletion request" in the subject line.
- Write your Palbox username in the e-mail.
- Write how you signed in: Apple, Google, or e-mail and password.
We can ask for more information to check that the account is yours. We delete the account in the same way as the deletion in the app and answer you by e-mail.
Response time
We answer your request within 30 days at the latest (KVKK art. 13).
